Bliss Balls

Bliss balls are so easy to make. There’s no cooking, no fussing and no lengthy preparation time. Great for children to make, they are literally a no brainer.

Simply throw your ingredients into the blender, wiz away and then roll into balls.

Nut-free Cacao Bliss Balls

Ingredients:

½ cup softened/melted coconut oil   
⅓ cup cocoa powder
1 cup dates   
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 ½ cups seeds (e.g. sunflower, pepitas)

 

½ cup rolled oats
¼ cup tahini   
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1 tsp vanilla essence   
½ cup shredded coconut (to roll)


Method:

  1. Remove pits from dates.
  2. Place all the ingredients in a food processor and process until it comes together in a ball, or is soft enough to roll into balls. 
  3. Place in the fridge to firm up a bit for 15-30 minutes.
  4. Roll into teaspoon-heaped sized balls, and then in the coconut to finish.
  5. Store in the fridge or freezer.

(makes 20-24 balls)

Chocolate (Cacao) and Cashew Bliss Balls

Ingredients:
1 cup of cashews blended until smooth (you can use cashew butter)
2 tbsp of raw honey
1 tsp vanilla extract

 

8 dates (pitted and soaked for 4 hours+)
2 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 cup of desiccated coconut for coating


Method:

  1. Place all the ingredients except for the coconut in a blender and wiz until smooth.
  2. With your hands roll the mixture into small balls.
  3. Roll in the desiccated coconut to finish.
  4. Place the balls in the refrigerator to set until hard.

Sesame Bliss Balls

Ingredients:
1 cup toasted sesame seeds
½ cup golden raisins or regular raisins
2 tsp ground ginger powder
2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled & chopped


2 tsp ground cumin
1½ tsp ground cardamon
2½ tbsp ghee or coconut oil


Method:

  1. Place all the ingredients except for the sesame seeds in a blender and wiz until smooth.
  2. With your hands roll the mixture into small balls. 
  3. Roll in toasted sesame seeds to finish.
  4. Place the balls in the refrigerator to set until hard.

Tahini Bliss Balls

Ingredients:

1 cup of rolled oats
½ cup of tahini


½ cup of chopped walnuts
2 – 4 tsp of honey or maple syrup


Method:

  1. Place all the ingredients except for the chopped walnuts in a blender and wiz until smooth.
  2. With your hands roll the mixture into small balls.
  3. Roll in the chopped walnuts to finish.
  4. Place the balls in the refrigerator to set until hard.
